Everyone has a philosophy, whether they admit it or not. It shapes how you think, what you value, and the choices you make; this "worldview" will determine the kind of life you end up living. You can drift through life without examining your philosophy, as many people do. The results tend to look like… well… modern society.

What Is the New Philosophy of the Way of the Universe?

Our new philosophy is practical, rational, science-grounded, and reality-based. It has evolved to help you live better, make wiser choices, and be genuinely useful. It has evolved in and for the 21st century and is perfectly timed to help solve its major, accelerating problems (AKA the polycrisis).

It's not “belief for belief’s sake.” It is not spiritual cosplay. It is not a lecture you admire from a distance. It is meant to be practiced.

If you practice its principles, it will help you align your life's actions with the universe's most time-proven evolutionary success patterns, and you will experience what has been called the beautiful and powerful "flow state or "in the zone" state more frequently in your daily life.

More About What We Mean When We Say “Philosophy”

The dictionary defines philosophy as:

“The rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct.”

Using that definition, philosophy is:

• • A rational way of understanding and thinking about life (Who you are, what is the nature of the universe, and how to best live in it.)
  • Having a set of guiding principles and new solutions for the real challenges and problems of the 21st century.

It is firmly grounded in the rational investigation of what is true, helpful, and life-sustaining. The Way of the Universe philosophy is designed to be a philosophy built from:

   2. The time-tested success patterns found across our long evolutionary history (AKA Progressive Evolution patterns) 
   3. The practical principles derived from those long-term, proven evolutionary patterns are what we call the Universe Principles of Right Action and Right Attitude.

“Any philosophy that can be put into a book is not a philosophy. A philosophy is about mastering the art of living.”

Henry David Thoreau kept it just as sharp:

“Be not simply good. Be good for something.”

   5. Decide, using evidence, whether to keep, modify, or drop. No guilt. Just data.

About Our Massive Updating and Knowledge Transfer From the Old Universe Spirit Website to this New Way of the Universe Focuses Website

The above description of the Way of the Universe is designed to show how the Universe Spirit nonprofit organization is evolving. We are far from done with this evolution. The Way of the Universe philosophy is a new philosophy born in the 21st century to help address 21st-century problems. It is our new name for many, but not all, of the objectives we pursued on our old UniverseSpirit.org website over the last 24 years.

This new name better reflects our efforts to develop a universal, rational, and practical philosophy. This name also helps distinguish us from the many negative associations that come from appearing anything like a traditional religion, a new-age spirituality, or even from our own decades of efforts to create a universal meta-spirituality that would unite humanity.

It may take at least another 6-12 months to transfer and upgrade 24 years of work (about 1,000 pages) from our old Universe Spirit website to this new one. During this massive transfer process, every page is under review, in construction, and being updated. We need to fix broken links, add new insights, remove outdated materials that no longer align with our philosophy-based approach, update language, and revise grammar and spelling to bring our older materials up to date and align with our new Way of the Universe philosophical framing. 

Some links on this site will still point to our old website during construction until we complete the large-scale transfer. If the home page of our old site displays a random error message and you can't view the entire site, click the refresh button; the old site will appear. To return to our new website from the old one, click the Back button or the Way of the Universe link at the top of the old home page. (The disappearing old website bug is very random, and we're still working on finding the cause and fixing it.)
