Introduction to the new Way of the Universe life philosophy

The new "Way of the Universe" creates a new life philosophy reflecting the core definition of philosophy.

Philosophy is defined as:

1. The study of the foundational nature of reality and existence, and

2. the theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts as a guiding principle for behavior.

Philosophy is not an academic pursuit only for professors and the rich. It is the most essential activity every human must engage in for a good life. Henry David Thoreau wisely said, "Philosophy helps us solve the problems of life, not only theoretically but practically."

The new Way of the Universe found on this website has been consciously designed to be:

a. universal,

b. science-grounded,

c. non-denominational,

d. culturally neutral, and 

e. non-gender-biased.

It is a philosophy of life for the 21st century and beyond. Exploring this new "Way of the Universe" means learning:

1. new discoveries about how the universe creates, maintains, transforms, and sustains life and our environment,

2. how the universe successfully does the above consistently over great periods, and,

3. how the successful long-term repeated patterns of the universe's 13.7 billion years of evolution create universal principles for guiding individual and collective behavior.

More about the Way of the Universe life philosophy

The Way of the Universe at Universe Spirit differs from how the world has previously understood it. In almost every culture and era, philosophers and the wisest individuals have declared that by carefully studying the universe, one will discover one's proper place, purpose, identity, and how to live successfully with others. 

In the past, groups like the Stoics of ancient Greece and the Taoists of ancient China intensely studied the universe through direct observation. They made significant but very location, time, and instrument-limited observations. But, even as limited as those observations were, the old "Way of the Universe" wisdom has successfully guided the lives of billions of individuals in Eastern and Western cultures to this day.

Unfortunately, the wisest individuals of the past did not have the modern instruments or the computational power we have today. The new "Way of the Universe" goes far beyond what the Stoics, Taoists, and past wise individuals have observed about the universe.

This is because of discoveries made using modern tools and analysis methods. Using these modern tools and analysis methodologies, we can now look back at the universe from its beginning and carefully observe its complete evolution over 13.7 billion years. These new universe discoveries have significantly expanded our understanding of our place in the universe, our purpose in life, our identity, and the optimal way to live successfully with others.

Today, the wisdom of studying the universe and exploring its most universal, time-tested patterns and principles holds more truth than ever before.

On the science side, the new "Way of the Universe" includes the following that all will need to learn about and apply: 

1. The principles of Progressive Evolution. (Evolution within the universe is actually going somewhere! It has many progressive, positive directions and qualities that, if you know, align with them, and apply them, your life will become significantly better almost immediately)

2. The Universe Principles. They are detailed value and attitude guides for individual and collective ethical and sustainable living. The Universe Principles are derived directly from the principles of Progressive Evolution.)

3. The new Universe Evolutionary Worldview. (Every new worldview always begins a major transition moment in human history. (The Universe Evolutionary Worldview is also derived directly from the principles of Progressive Evolution.)

4. The Second Enlightenment Movement. (This new global movement will grow much like the First Enlightenment Movement, which brought us rational, analytical thinking and the basics of science. The Second Enlightenment Movement fully embraces Progressive Evolution, the Universe Evolutionary Worldview, the Universe Principles, and a breakthrough new way of seeing and analyzing our complex world called the Dialectical Meta-systemic analysis and thinking methodology.

The Second Enlightenment Movement will be a powerful force helping to create a Great Global Rebirth after the Great Global Collapse.  (12 worsening global crises are currently accelerating the coming Great Global Collapse. These 12 crises are described in detail on this page.)

5. The recommended actions of Evolutioneers Individuals who practice the new "Way of the Universe" and who are also working to create a Second Enlightenment and the Great Global Rebirth are called Evolutioneers.

The above critical elements of the new Way of the Universe ALL are based upon the most time-proven, reoccurring patterns of successful and sustainable action within the universe's 13.7 billion-year-old evolution. These patterns of success and sustainability within the universe's evolutionary actions naturally create more complete and practical individual and group principles, values, identities, and daily action guides.

Roy Bhaskar, the famous Oxford "philosopher of science," stated in his breakthrough work on Critical Realism that, in numerous ways, science would be far better served with an "open systems" approach toward new areas of exploration that do not yet yield themselves to scientific experimentation, methodology, and falsification.
