We are writing you to say THANK YOU for your support of the EPA’s recent release of rules to control carbon pollution, and your efforts to address climate destabilization through your Climate Protection Plan.

We applaud you for recognizing that the earth’s climate is getting more extreme and that human caused carbon pollution is the primary cause of climate destabilization. We commend your efforts to restrict coal fired electrical generation, the largest single cause of carbon emissions on Earth.

We believe that cutting carbon emissions by 32% over the next 15 years is a good start, but hardly begins to address the severity of our climate destabilization problem. Much stronger actions are needed to avert climate tipping points that may escalate world temperatures past our ability to reverse.

Though your Clean Power Plan does not go far enough, it is a good first step and we want to express our gratitude and support for your leadership in reducing carbon emissions!
